SWR follows a behavior-based safety program which informs management and employees of the overall safety of the workplace through safety observations. By encouraging employees to SCAN for potential hazards and raise concerns when necessary, we believe an incident and injury free workplace is achievable.
Toolbox Talks
Weekly toolbox talks give foremen and field leadership a crucial opportunity to communicate job-specific safety messages and address issues related to upcoming tasks on the project.Establishing an honest, open, and frequent dialogue among team members on a project is critical to setting the groundwork for safe daily practices
SWR has developed and adheres to the following safety guidelines and programs:
• Safety training & recognition programs• Comprehensive accident prevention plan manual• Corporate safety audit program• Formal substance abuse prevention program• Formal monthly safety training• Quarterly testing on safety issues & techniques• OSHA 30-hour classes required for all project superintendents • Safety department staffed with professionals in safety policies, procedures, substance abuse prevention, & workers’ compensation claims management
